HSI 2018, the hyperspectral imaging and applications conference, is held every two years as part of the Photonex exhibition. It is a free conference, supported by the Photonex organisers and sponsors, and is chaired by Professor Stephen Marshall of the Hyperspectral Imaging Centre, University of Strathclyde, UK. JSI—Journal of Spectral Imaging is delighted both to sponsor and to be publishing a Special Issue of papers from the conference. In 2018, the dates are 10 and 11 October and the venue is the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, UK.

The organisers have issued a call for abstracts for authors wishing to present at the conference. Further details at https://www.hsi2018.com/call-for-abstracts/. The deadline for expressions of interest is Friday 29 June 2018.

JSI Special Issue

All contributors to HSI-2018 are invited to submit a paper to a Special Issue of JSI dedicated to the conference. All papers accepted for publication will be published Open Access with absolutely no cost to the author. Selected papers from the meeting will appear as a collection of “Papers Presented at HSI-2018”, and will, of course, be freely available without restriction.

JSI is included in major databases including Scopus, Google Scholar, CNKI Scholar, CrossRef, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Dimensions, Portico and Semantic Scholar. JSI has applied for inclusion in the Web of Science and publication of a paper from you will greatly help this application and, hopefully, our first Impact Factor.

Deadlines

We recommend that papers are submitted by the end of 2018.

JSI is an online journal and papers are published online shortly after acceptance. This means that there is no waiting for the entire issue to be collated; the sooner you submit your paper, the sooner it can be published; subject to satisfactory review of course.

Paper submission

Manuscripts should be submitted to the journal’s online manuscript submission and refereeing system at https://papers.impublications.com. If you have not used this before, you will need to register first. Once logged in, choose Journal of Spectral Imaging and make sure you choose the HSI-2018 section in the first step when submitting your paper.

Your paper will be peer reviewed and you may be asked to make changes before it can be accepted.

There is detailed information on preparing your paper at the journal’s Author Centre at https://www.impopen.com/jsi-author-centre. JSI welcomes Supplementary Material including data sets, video, audio or other similar material.
